Fringe, cowboy boots, and other elements of Western-style are not a fleeting trend, but a classic, which is quoted by the brand Balmain in a new thematic collection for Netflix. This collection is dedicated to the movie “The Harder They Fall”, which premiered the other day on Netflix.
The limited capsule collection of clothes and accessories: The Balmain x The Harder They Fall went on sale on November 3, the day of the premiere of the film of the same name in the genre of westerns on Netflix. The key elements of the collection are earthy and terracotta shades, as well as suede and fringe.
Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing designed the Western film style with costume director Antoinette Messam. The women’s line includes tops, skirts, and dresses with metal rivets, jackets, and bags with lacing and fringe. In the male part of the capsule, we see skinny pants, a biker jacket, a shirt, and a T-shirt with the name of the film and the Balmain logo.
“I spent a lot of my childhood watching American Westerns. I have such great memories of sitting in front of the TV, watching the legendary films with my parents. But at the same time, many of those famous movies were tragically limited by narrow-minded prejudices of the time. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I learned that the Westerns of my youth projected images that were often far from the reality of the 19th-Century West. Those films, with their all-white casts, ignored an incredible history, where one-third of American cowboys were black—many of them newly freed slaves who had headed west in hopes of a better life,” “commented Olivier Rousteing. This history also gives incredible strength and relevance to the collection.
The collection is already available on the official website of the brand. Prices range from $ 195 for a bandana to $ 8095 for a fringed jacket.
